“The Roybal Foundation and Roybal Project Community Outreach Booth at the 14th Annual Los Angeles Latino Book & Family Festival: October 8-9, 2011”
For the second year in a row, the Roybal Foundation and Roybal Project will be introducing their mission and programs to the Latino community of the greater Los Angeles area at the 14th Annual Latino Book & Family Festival(LBFF). The weekend of October 8th and 9th, 2011 marks 14th Annual Los Angeles Latino Book & Family Festival(LBFF) and the third year in a row of its presence on the campus of California State University, Los Angeles (Greenlee Plaza). This is a family event with something for every family member (author readings; seminars; ethnic food court; entertainment; children's stage; a wide variety of vendors; health screenings; autograph area), and held during Hispanic Heritage Month. The LBFF features a well respected literary program with more Latino authors than any other event in the country. The Latino Book and Family Festival(LBFF) was founded by Latino Literacy Now, a non-profit organization 501c (3). Its mission is to reduce illiteracy, promote literacy excellence and advance the cause of reading in the Latino Community. Latino Literacy Now has been dedicated to advancing the cause of reading and promoting literacy in the Latino community since our first event, the Los Angeles Latino Book, Culture and Travel Festival was held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in 1997. Since then, Latino Literacy Now has produced more than 60 Festivals, Book Awards and Folklorico Dance competitions around the United States drawing more than 1,000,000 participants and attendees.
